Within the framework of the Excellence in Research program, the Mecklenburg-Western Pomeranian Ministry of Education, Science and Culture has decided to fund the establishment of a joint research project for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular implant infections, and has pledged 5 million Euros in the coming four years (2017 - 2020).
Under the title Card-ii-Omics, the project consortium brings together the research clusters of the universities and university medical centers in Rostock and Greifswald and has already carried out excellent preliminary work in the areas of implant development, infection research and proteomics. According to the jury, the group's plans have the potential to put the region in a unique position nationwide.
